Buttercream Cake Decorating class, we will be decorating four cakes using the ruffle technique, candy stripe, rose swirl and ombre. We will then be piping flowers onto cupcakes. please note.. A specific receipe for the buttercream will be provided which students will need to make and bring to class.

Suitable for all skill levels


The price includes use of equipment, tuition and cakes. Students will be expected to make two batches of their own buttercream with a specific receipe provided and bring to class.

This course is suitable for anyone who wishes to learn how to use buttercream in cake decorating.

We will be covering the following skills

How to make stable buttercream

How to colour buttercream successfully

How to coat a cake with buttercream to achieve a smooth finish

How to pipe a ruffle cake

How to pipe a range of buttercream flowers on cupcakes

How to make an ombre effect with buttercream a smooth effect and a piped effect.

How to store your buttercream cake.

How to use Russian Nozzles
